CHURCH STREET, EDMONTON—NEW “AT ANY TIME” AND 8.00 AM TO 9.30 AM AND 3.00 PM TO 6.30 PM LOADING RESTRICTIONS, 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT DURING SCHOOL TIMES AND NEW ZEBRA CROSSING AND CHANGES TO LAYOUT OF AN EXISTING ZEBRA CROSSING

Further information may be obtained from Traffic and Transportation Services, telephone number 020 8379 3500. 1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield (the Council) propose to make the Enfield (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Area) (Amendment No  ) Order 200  and the Enfield (20 mph Speed Limit) (No  ) Traffic Order 200  under sections 6, 84(1) and (2) and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order would be to introduce: (a) “at any time” waiting restrictions in further parts of Church Street, Edmonton and parts of Cedars Court, Hydefield Court and Tillotson Road; (b) “at any time” and “Mondays to Fridays 8.00 am to 9.30 am and 3.00 pm to 6.30 pm” loading restrictions in other parts of Church Street, Edmonton. 3. The general effect of the Speed Limit Order would be to introduce a 20 miles per hour speed limit for vehicles in the length of Church Street, Edmonton specified in Schedule 1 to this notice, which would operate during local school times only (Note: such speed limit would be indicated by an approved variable speed limit sign). 4. Further notice is hereby given that the Council has approved, under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: (a) the introduction of a zebra pedestrian crossing in Church Street, Edmonton. The location of the crossings and the extent of the complementary zig-zag markings are described in Schedule 2 to this notice. The zig-zag markings, which would be laid on both sides of Church Street, Edmonton, would prohibit vehicles from stopping on the markings at all times, for any reason; and (b) the revision of the extent of the complementary zig-zag markings to the existing zebra crossing in Church Street, Edmonton (between Cedars Court and Haselbury Road) to those described in Schedule 3 to this notice, to accommodate a new mini roundabout in the vicinity. 5. A copy of the proposed Orders, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders, of a map indicating the locations and effects of the proposed Orders, the zebra crossing proposals and other relevant Orders, can be inspected at the Reception Desk, “B” Block, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive. 6. Persons desiring to object to either of the proposed Orders, or make any other representations, should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection stating the ground thereof, to the Head of Traffic and Transportation Services, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, quoting the Ref LB/T/TG52/884, by 8 June 2005. 7. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letter you write to the Council in response to this notice may, upon written request, be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished. Schedule 2 (zebra crossing and complementary zig-zag markings) Church Street, Edmonton, the centre of the crossing to be approximately 1 metre south-east of the common boundary of Nos 254 and 260 Church Street. The extent of the zig-zag markings to be from a point 3 metres south-east of the eastern wall of No 262 Church Street to a point 4 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos 250 and 252 Church Street. Schedule 3 (revised zebra crossing zig-zag markings) Church Street, Edmonton, the extent of the revised zig-zag markings to be from a point 7.5 metres north-west of the north-western kerbline of Cedars Court to a point 1 metre north-west of the common boundary of Nos 157 and 159 Church Street on the north-east side and a point 3 metres north-west of that common boundary on the south-west side. 18 May 2005.
