PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990
Notice is hereby given that the Wrexham County Borough Council on 14 December 2004
designated an area of Wrexham to be a conservation area in accordance with section
69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.
The conservation area includes Queen Street, Hill Street, Crane Street, Well Street,
High Street, Minshalls Croft, King Street, Crane Lane, Bowens Lane, Mount Pleasant
and Rock Hill, Cefn Mawr. A plan showing the precise boundaries of the conservation
area may be inspected at the office of the Chief Planning Officer, Lambpit Street,
Wrexham during normal office hours. By virtue of the designation of the area as a
conservation area, buildings within the area may not be demolished without the consent
of the County Borough Council or the National Assembly for Wales and there are also
provisions which apply for the preservation of trees within the conservation area.
Special procedures may also need to be followed in respect of applications for planning
permission for development of land within the conservation area. Anyone seeking more
detailed information on the effect of the designation should contact the Chief Planning
Officer.
