LONDON BUS PRIORITY NETWORK—STAINES ROAD, HOUNSLOW

1. The Council of the London Borough of Hounslow hereby gives notice that on 25 April 2005 it made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effect of the Bus Lane Order would be to prohibit all vehicles, expect buses, from being in the area of carriageway (to be known as the “bus lane”) lying within or adjacent to the length of carriageway specified in Schedule 1 to this notice between the north-western kerbline of that road and a longitudinal single white line marked on the carriageway of the road. 3. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Amendment Order would be to further amend and the Hounslow (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1977: (a) so as to prohibit vehicles from waiting, or waiting to load and unload, in the lengths of street detailed in Schedule 2 to this notice: and (b) so that waiting by vehicles would be restricted to: (i) 1 hour, with no return in 1 hour, between 7.00 am and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Saturdays in the lay-by on the north-west side of Staines Road, Hounslow fronting Nos 391 to 397 a Staines Road, Hounslow; and (ii) 30 minutes, with no return in 1 hour, between 7.00 am and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Saturdays in the lay-by on the south-east side of Staines Road, Hounslow fronting Nos 358 to 368 Staines Road, Hounslow. 4. The general effect of the Loading Places Order would be to designate a parking place in: (a) the newly constructed lay-by on the north-west side of Staines Road, Hounslow between a point 4.80 metres south-west of a point opposite the party wall of Nos 359 and 361 Staines Road and a point 10.80 metres south-west of that wall; and (b) the newly constructed lay-by on the north-west side of Staines Road, Hounslow between a point opposite the western wall of No.389 Staines Road, Hounslow and a point 26 metres north-east of that wall, in which goods vehicles may wait for a period not exceeding 1 hour to load and unload between 7.00 am and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive. 5. A copy of the Orders, which come into operation on 30 April 2005, together with a copy of the above-mentioned Order of 1977 (and of the Orders that have amended that Order) and of a map which indicates the lengths of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published in the Street Management and Public Protection Department’s Reception Area at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN. 6. Copies of the Orders may be purchased from the Street Management and Public Protection Department, London Borough of Hounslow, Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN. 7. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, or that any of the relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
