NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Heygate & Sons of Snails Pit Farm, Cley Road, Swaffham, Norfolk are
applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole
into the chalk strata at National Grid Ref TF 7765 0688 at Warren Farm, Drymere, in
the parish of Beechamwell in the district of Breckland in the county of Norfolk. The
proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 81.8 cubic metres per hour,
1,636 cubic metres per day, and 150,000 cubic metres per year between 1 April and
31 October each year.
The water will be used for direct spray irrigation and filling of a lined reservoir
for subsequent irrigation use. This being an application to renew without any changes
licence serial no 6/33/49/G/57, which expires in October 2005.
A copy of the application and any maps, plans and other documents submitted with
it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at The Farm Office, Snails
Pit Farm, Cley Road, Swaffham, Norfolk between 22 February 2005 and 23 March 2005.
Any person who wishes to make representation about the application should do so in
writing the the Environment Agency, Bromholme Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
PE28 4NE before the end of the said period.
