TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
STOPPING-UP OF AN AREA OF HIGHWAY AT LAWRENCE WAY AND AN AREA OF UN-NAMED HIGHWAY AT THE FORMER CATTLE MARKET, GLOUCESTER
The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he has made an Order
under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of
Gloucestershire) (No SW2) Order 2005” authorising the stopping-up of an area of highway
at Lawrence Way and an area of un-named highway at the former Cattle Market, Gloucester
to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out
in accordance with the planning permission referred to in that Schedule and requiring
the provision of areas of new highway and improvements of St Oswald’s Road and Lawrence
Way.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government
Office for the South West, The Planning Team, 1st Floor, 2 Rivergate, Temple Quay,
Bristol BS1 6EH, (Tel 0117 900 1896) quoting Ref SW/THM/8247/207 and/or may be inspected
at all reasonable hours at the Reception, Sustainable Development, Gloucester City
Council, Herbert Warehouse, The Docks, Gloucester.
Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof,
or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers
of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder
has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 11 February
2005, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any
provision contained therein.

Mixed use development comprising retail, leisure, residential, business and associated
parking at the Cattle Market/St Oswald’s Campus, St Oswald’s Road, Gloucester in accordance
with outline planning permission granted to Grantchester Properties (Gloucester) Ltd
by the First Secretary of State on 7 October 2003, under Ref APP/U1620/V/02/1092772
and the amendment to that permission which was confirmed by Gloucester City Council
by letter on 11 March 2004 under Ref PD/00/00208/OUT.
