PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER REGULATION 10 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000
INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL
Notice is hereby given that British Energy Generation Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to operate an installation involving dispersed small combustion plant, including diesel engines and boiler plant, which is defined under section 1.1 of the PPC Regulations as combustion activities burning fuel in an appliance with a rated thermal input of 50 megawatts or more. The installation is located at Dungeness B Power Station, Romney Marsh, Kent TN29 9PX, in the district of Shepway District Council. The application contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment. Information relating to the above IPPC application for a permit to operate the combustion plant at Dungeness B Power Station is held in registers at the following locations: Environment Agency, Orchard House, Endeavour Park, London Road, Addington, Kent MA19 5FH; and Shepway District Council, Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, Kent CT20 2QY. Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the above-stated addresses during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a relevant charge to cover the costs of copying. Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency, address given above, within 28 days from the date of this public notice. Any such objections will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request.
