THE A6 TRUNK ROAD (ALVASTON BYPASS) (DERESTRICTION) ORDER 2004

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under sections 82(2) and 83(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A6 Trunk Road (known as Alvaston Bypass) at Alvaston in the county of Derbyshire. The effect of the Order, which comes into force on 20 May 2004, will be to remove the 30 miles per hour speed restriction on the A6 Alvaston Bypass, imposed by the installation of street lighting, from a point 85 metres east of the centre of its roundabout junction with the A5111 (known as Raynesway Roundabout) to a point 64 metres north of the centre of its roundabout junction with the A6 and the B5010 (known as Thulston Roundabout), and will restore the national speed limit of 70 miles per hour for dual carriageway roads. There is currently a temporary derestriction Order in force; this Order will make the derestriction permanent. A copy of the Order, together with plans illustrating the proposals and a Statement of the Secretary of State’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected during opening hours at Derby City Council, Roman House, Friar Gate, Derby DE1 1XB; Alvaston Post Office, 3 Shardlow Road, Alvaston, Derby or may be seen at or obtained by application to Karen Eustace at the Highways Agency, Traffic Operations Division Secretariat, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL.
