THE BRENT (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO ) ORDER 200
CHAMBERLAYNE ROAD AND STATION TERRACE
1. Notice is also given that the Council of the London Borough of Brent propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985. 2. The general effect of the “Prescribed Routes” Order would be to amend the Brent (Prescribed Routes) (No 2) Traffic Order 1991 so that the pedal cycle lane situated on the south side of the road linking Dagmar Gardens/Station Terrace with Chamberlayne Road would be relocated to the north side. 3. The general effect of the “Waiting and Loading Restriction” Order would be further to amend the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979, so that: (a) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited at any time in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; (b) waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for a period of more than 20 minutes in the same place would now be prohibited between 11.00 am and 6.30 pm throughout the week in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; (c) the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle would be prohibited (except on Sundays in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1) unless there is in force a valid licence issued by the Brent Borough Council or the goods are immediately taken into or delivered at premises adjacent to the vehicle from which the sale is effected; (d) the use of any vehicle or of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume, wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising would be prohibited; (e) any existing prohibition on the waiting by vehicles, the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle or the use of any vehicle or animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this notice would be revoked. 4. The prohibitions referred to in sub-paragraph 3(a) and 3(b) above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, eg, the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc, from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “Blue / Orange Badge” would apply. 5. The Council propose to install road humps under section 90 A-F of the Highways Act 1980 in the locations specified in Schedule 2 to this notice. 6. A copy of each of the proposed Orders, of a map of the relevant area, of the Brent Prescribed Routes Order 2001, of the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order) and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published at: (a) The One Stop Shop, Brent Town Hall, Forty Lane, Wembley, Middlesex HA9 9HX; and (b) The One Stop Shop, Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middlesex HA9 6BZ. 7. Persons desiring to make representations or to object to either of the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections, and the grounds thereof, to The Director of Transportation, Transportation Service Unit, 2nd Floor (east) Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middlesex HA9 6BZ, quoting Ref TO/25/007/BFM, before the aforementioned date. Schedule 1 Waiting restrictions (At any time) Chamberlayne Road: (a) the north-east side: (i) from a point 10 metres north-west of Kempe Road to Nos 61 and 63 Chamberlayne Road; (ii) from Nos 261 and 263 Chamberlayne Road north-westward for a distance of 24 metres; (b) the south-west side: (i) from 10 metres north-west of Mostyn Gardens to 10 metres south-east of Bolton Gardens; (ii) from 27 metres north-west of Nos 108 and 110 Chamberlayne Road to 10 metres south-east of Leigh Gardens; (iii) from Nos 130 and 132 Chamberlayne Road to Nos 132 and 134 Chamberlayne Road; (iv) from Nos 261 and 263 Chamberlayne Road north-westward for a distance of 24 metres. Station Terrace, (the eastern arm), the south-west side, from Nos 21 and 22 Station Terrace to Nos 28 and 29 Station Terrace. Schedule 2 Road Humps (entry treatment) Chamberlayne Road junction with: (i) Bolton Gardens; (ii) Chevening Road; (iii) Clifford Gardens; (iv) Egerton Gardens; (v) Hardinge Road; (vi) Kempe Road; (vii) Leigh Gardens; (viii) Leighton Gardens; (ix) Liddell Gardens; (x) Mostyn Gardens; (xi) Okehampton Road; (xii) Phillimore Gardens; (xiii) Trevelyan Gardens; (xiv) Whitmore Gardens. 22 April 2004.
