THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (FREE PARKING PLACES) (BICYCLES) (NO ) ORDER 200
PRAED STREET AND SOUTH WHARF ROAD
1. Notice is hereby given that Westminster City Council propose to make the above-mentioned
Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.
2. The general effect of the Parking Places Order would be to:
(a) re-designate two 2-hour metered parking places on the south-east side of Praed
Street as 2-hour pay and display parking places and extend 1 of those parking places
to provide a 2-hour metered parking place for 5 vehicles;
(b) provide a 2-hour metered parking place for 3 vehicles on the south-east side
of South Wharf Road;
(c) provide that the charges for the leaving of a vehicle in the metered or pay and
display parking places would be the same as for those in the immediate vicinity.
3. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order would be further
to amend the City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (No 1) Order 2002,
so that:
(a) in the lengths of street specified in the Schedule to this notice:
(i) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting
goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited “at any time”;
(ii) waiting by vehicles for more than 20 minutes in the same place for the purpose
of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle would be prohibited
between 11.00 am and 6.30 pm throughout the week.
(b) certain loading restrictions are removed from the south-east side of Praed Street
near its junction with Sale Place to allow for the provision of parking places.
4. The general effect of bicycle parking place Order would be to provide areas for
the leaving of bicycles in:
(a) Praed Street, the north-west side near its junction with Sale Place; and
(b) South Wharf Road, the north-west side near its junction with Praed Street.
5. The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the
Orders are available for inspection between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm on Mondays to Fridays
inclusive at Mouchel Parkman, Third Floor, Mountbarrow House, 6-20 Elizabeth Street,
London SW1W 9RB, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders
are made or the Council decide not to make the Orders.

7. Any objections or other representations about any of the proposed Orders or the
proposed “speed tables” should be sent in writing to the Council’s agents, Mouchel
Parkman, Third Floor, Mountbarrow House, 6-20 Elizabeth Street, London SW1W 9RB, quoting
Ref 25065/WES1674/ORD/3062 by 23 April 2004. All objections must specify the grounds
on which they are made.

Schedule
No Waiting “At any time”
Praed Street
(a) north-west side, between the north-eastern kerbline of South Wharf Road and a
point 40 metres south-west of the south-western kerbline of Edgware Road;
(b) south-east side:
(i) between a point 23.7 metres south-west of the south-western kerbline of Sale
Place and a point 9 metres south-west of the south-western kerbline of Sale Place;
(ii) between a point 28 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerbline of Sale Place
and a point 40 metres south-west of the south-western kerbline of Edgware Road.
South Wharf Road
(a) north and north-west side, between the north-western kerbline of Praed Street
and a point 89.5 metres south-west of that kerbline;
(b) south-east side, between the north-western kerbline of Praed Street and a point
67 metres south-west of that kerbline.
