THE KINGSTON UPON THAMES (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO 2/2004) (SPECIAL PARKING AREA) TRAFFIC ORDER 2004
PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF DOUBLE YELLOW LINES ASHLYNS WAY AND MERRITT GARDENS, CHESSINGTON

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, on 8 January 2004, made the above Order under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985. 2. The general effect of the Order would be to introduce double yellow line waiting restrictions, operating “at any time” in: Ashlyns Way: (a) the north-east to south-west arm (i) the north-west side, from Merritt Gardens to the north-west to south-east arm of Ashlyns Way; (ii) the south-east side, northward for a distance of 8 metres from Merritt Gardens and southward for 8 metres from the north-west to south-east arm of Ashlyns Way; (b) the north-west to south-east arm (i) the north-east side, southward for a distance of 8 metres from its north-western extremity; (ii) the south-west side, from Merritt Gardens to a point opposite the rear wall of No 114 Leatherhead Road. Merritt Gardens, the north-east side, for a distance of approximately 10 metres either side of its junction with Ashlyns Way. 3. The Order, which will come into force on 19 January 2004, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including a plan showing the location of the restrictions, are available for inspection until 19 February 2004 at: The 2nd Floor Reception Area, Guildhall 2, Kingston upon Thames KT1 1EU, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive; and Hook and Chessington Library, Hook Road, Chessington KT9 1EJ, during normal opening hours. 4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may make application for the purpose to the High Court by 19 February 2004.
