FURZEDOWN CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE (F1)
1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth, on
16 December 2003, made the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and
the Road Traffic Act 1991.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be to continue indefinitely the parking
controls introduced as an experiment by:

3. The Orders introduce the Furzedown controlled parking zone F1, operating 11.00
am to 12.00 noon on Mondays to Fridays, into the area around Rectory Lane, Birchwood
Road (between Chillerton Road and Furzedown Drive) and Chillerton Road (between Birchwood
Road and Crowborough Road). As a result of consultation, additional waiting restrictions
in Furzedown Drive and Birchwood Road at their junction are included.
4. The following provisions will apply to the controlled parking zone:
Parking places are designated in the road and lengths of road described in paragraph
3 above.
The maximum parking period is unrestricted for permit holders. The hours of operation
are 11.00 am to 12.00 noon on Mondays to Fridays.
Vehicles which may be left in the parking places are vehicles displaying either a
valid residents’ permit, a valid visitor’s permit appropriate to the relevant sub
zone or a valid business permit.
The charge for residents permits will be £23.00 (3 months), £38.00 (6 months), or
£60.00 (12 months), and they will be issued to any person residing in the Furzedown
F1 zone who is the owner of a passenger vehicle (12 seats or less), or a goods carrying
vehicle. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled the charge will be £10
for 12 months.
The charge for business permits available in all zones will be £148 (3 months), £260
(6 months), or £450 (12 months), and they will be issued to any person who occupies
premises in the Furzedown F1 zone and who uses such premises for non-residential purposes
or is employed in those premises and who is the owner of a vehicle of the class mentioned
above. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled or carry prominent and
permanent company livery the charge will be £136 for 6 months or £224 for 12 months.
For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled and carry prominent and permanent
company livery the charge will be £76 for 6 months or £112 for 12 months.
The charge for business permits available in one individual sub-zone only will be
£117 (3 months), £205 (6 months), or £350 (12 months), and they will be issued to
any person who occupies premises in the Furzedown F1 zone and who uses such premises
for non-residential purposes or is employed in those premises and who is the owner
of a vehicle of the class mentioned above. For vehicles which are electrically or
gas propelled or carry prominent and permanent company livery the charge will be £106
for 6 months or £175 for 12 months. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled
and carry prominent and permanent company livery the charge will be £59 for 6 months
or £88 for 12 months.
The charge for visitor’s permits will be £1.00 per day (50 pence per day if the applicant
is aged 60 or over, the holder of a disabled person’s badge or the parent or carer
for a minor who is the holder of a disabled person’s badge), and they will be issued
to any household in the extended Furzedown F1 zone. Each household will be restricted
to not more than 50 visitor’s permits per year (100 if the applicant is aged 60 or
over, the holder of a disabled person’s badge or the parent or carer for a minor who
is the holder of a disabled person’s badge.
Note —All residents permits will only be valid within the sub zone in which the permit
holder resides.
All permits will be issued by Wandsworth Borough Council on application being made
together with payment of appropriate charge.
Generally yellow line waiting restrictions are imposed in all lengths of road within
the controlled parking zone not occupied by parking places and additionally at the
junction of Furzedown Drive and Birchwood Road. The restrictions will operate between
11.00 am and 12.00 noon on Mondays to Fridays. Existing waiting restrictions which
operate for longer than those hours will remain.
5. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 24 December 2003, and
of documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders can be inspected, during
normal office hours, on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of a period of
6 months from the date on which the Orders were made in The Concourse, The Town Hall,
Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU.

7. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision
contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements of that
Act or of any relevant regulations made under that Act have not been complied with
in relation to the Orders may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were
made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
