NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that The National Trust, Kingston Lacy Estate, Dorset, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from Upper Chalk strata at National Grid Ref SY 9659 9965, at Lower Barford Farm, Wimborne, Dorset. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 5.7 cubic metres per hour, 68.4 cubic metres per day and 24,966 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for agricultural, domestic and private purposes. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at National Trust, Dorset Area Office, Hillbutts, Wimborne, Dorset BH14 4DS, between 28 November 2003 and 26 December 2003. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, South West Region, Rivers House, Sunrise Business Park, Blandford Forum, Dorset DT11 8ST, before the end of the said period quoting the name of the applicant.
