NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act
1991 (as amended by the Environment Act 1995), that an application has been made to
the Environment Agency by Yorkshire Water Services Limited, Western House, Halifax

sewage effluent from Northallerton and Romanby Waste Water Treatment Works into the
River Wiske and Willow Beck at National Grid Refs SE 3508 9219 and SE 3543 9290 respectively.
The application has been made for long-term chemical dosing of the effluent and an
increase in the dry weather flow from 5,925 cubic metres per day to 7,086 cubic metres
per day.
The application also includes details for discharge in times of mechanical and/or
electrical failure from a new interstage sewage pumping station, which will be fitted
with an alarm, standby pumps and generator socket (for use in times of mains electricity
supply failure) in order to minimise the frequency of any discharge.

Clifton Moor, York YO30 4GZ, for the attention of Peter Baker, quoting Ref QR.27/23/0050,
not later than Friday 26 December 2003.
