PROPOSED STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAYS AT FLEETWOOD IN THE COUNTY OF LANCASHIRE

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that, on the application of Eversheds, he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act, which will authorise the proposed stopping-up of Cop Lane, Styan Street, unnamed highways and a length of Dock Street, Fleetwood. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Asda Stores Ltd by Wyre Borough Council on 17 January 2003 under Ref 02/02/00863. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing on Tuesday 4 November 2003, at the offices of Wyre Borough Council, Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton-Le-Fylde, Lancashire, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the North West (Transport) (quoting Ref GO/TNW5063/35/1/91) at the address stated below. Anyone may object to the making of the proposed Order but the objection must be received by the end of the 28 day objection period mentioned above. The substance of the objection should relate to the loss of public right of way and not the merits of development taking place.
