THE SUTTON (DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACES) (NO ) (AMENDMENT NO ) ORDER 200  [REFERENCE DS430]
RELATING TO CARSHALTON PARK ROAD AND THE PARK, CARSHALTON

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9, to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.
2. The principal objectives of these Orders are to:

(a) prevent obstructive parking in the vicinity of the traffic islands located in the mouth of Carshalton Park Road; and
(b) improve the sight lines for drivers leaving the newly constructed access to Ruskin Hall (Carshalton Methodist Church) in The Park, Carshalton.

2. The general effect of The Sutton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (No ) (Amendment No ) Order 200  will be to extend waiting restrictions “no waiting at any time” for the lengths of street set out in the Schedule to this notice. [Ref WL429]
3. The general effect of The Sutton (Disabled Persons Parking Places) (No ) (Amendment No ) Order 200  will be to relocate the disabled persons parking place situated 12 metres south of the southern kerbline of Ruskin Road, on the east side of The Park, Carshalton, southwards by a distance of 6.3 metres. [Ref DS430]
4. Full details of the proposals are contained in the following documents:

(a) the draft Orders;
(b) the Council’s statements of reasons for proposing to make the Orders; and
(c) a plan showing the location and effect of the proposal.

These may be examined at:
(i) Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday; and
(ii) Environment and Leisure, 24 Denmark Road, Carshalton, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

6. If you wish to object to the proposed Orders you should send a statement in writing, including the grounds for your objection and quoting the relevant reference to the address in the following paragraph by 21 November 2003.

8. Persons objecting to the proposed Orders should be made aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged to make any comments received in response to this notice open to public inspection, if requested.

Carshalton Park Road, Carshalton, the south-east side, from a point opposite the common boundary of Nos 63 and 65 Carshalton Park Road to a point 10 metres south-west of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos 71 and 73 Carshalton Park Road.

The Park, Carshalton, the east side, from the southern kerbline of Ruskin Road southwards for a distance of 18.3 metres.
