NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that James Thomas Appleton and Sheila Appleton of Park House Farm, Baldersby Park, Topcliffe, Thirsk, North Yorkshire YO7 3PG, are applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the Sherwood Sandstone at National Grid Ref SE 3840 7520 at Baldersby Park, Topcliffe in the parish of Asenby, Harrogate district of North Yorkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 36 cubic metres per hour, 864 cubic metres per day, 20,000 cubic metres between April and September. The water will be used for spray irrigatation. This application seeks to replace Licence Serial No 2/27/23/514 which expires on 30 September 2003 and includes a reduction in the annual quantity currently authorised for abstraction. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the above address between 16 August 2003 and 15 September 2003. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Coverdale House, Aviator Court, Clifton Moor, York YO30 4GZ, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
