ALFRED ROAD

1. Notice is hereby given that the Westminster City Council propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985. 2. The general effect of the Parking Places Order would be to: (a) redesignate certain residents’ parking places in Alfred Road and convert existing 4-hour meter parking bays to residents parking and provide 4, 2-hour meter parking bays; (b) in respect of the parking places, provide that the classes of vehicles for which they would be available, the hours during which they would operate and all the time limits during which vehicles may be left in the parking places would remain unchanged. 3. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order would be further to amend the City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (No 1) Order 2002, so that in the lengths of the street specified in the Schedule to this notice, the hours during which the existing prohibition applies on: (a) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be changed so that it would apply at any time; (b) waiting by vehicles for more than 20 minutes in the same place for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle would be changed so that it would apply between 11.00 am and 6.30 pm throughout the week. 4. The general effect of the Disabled Persons’ Parking Place Order would be to: (a) provide a disabled persons’ parking place on the south-east side of Alfred Road; (b) that the vehicles which may be left in the disabled persons’ parking place shall be those displaying either a valid permit issued by Westminster City Council (commonly known as the “White Westminster Badge”) or a disabled person’s badge issued by any local authority (commonly referred to as the “Orange Badge”) and that they may be left without charge; (c) that the parking place would operate at all times and be subject to a maximum stay of 4 hours between 8.30 am and 6.30 pm on Mondays and Fridays. 5. The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection, between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm, on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at Parkman Ltd., Third Floor, Mountbarrow House, 6-20 Elizabeth Street, London SW1W 9RB, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decide not to make the Orders. 6. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Department of Planning and Transportation, telephone number 020 7641 1956. 6. Any objections or other representations about any of the proposed Orders should be sent in writing to the Council’s agents, Parkman Ltd., Third Floor, Mountbarrow House, 6-20 Elizabeth Street, London SW1W 9RB, quoting Ref 1001896/WES1504/ORD/2938/KL, until the expiration of a period 21 days from the date on which this notice is published. Schedule Alfred Road (a) the north-west side, (i) between the south-westernmost extremity of Alfred Road and a point 12.5 metres north-east of that extremity; (ii) between a point 42.5 metres north-east of the south-westernmost extremity of Alfred Road and a point 10 metres north-east of that point; (iii) between a point 130.5 metres north-east of the south-westernmost extremity of Alfred Road and a point 7 metres north-east of that point; (b) the south-east side, (i) between the south-westernmost extremity of Alfred Road and a point 8 metres north-east of that extremity; (ii) between a point 96 metres north-east of the south-westernmost extremity of Alfred Road and a point 12 metres north-east of that point; (c) the south-west side. 31 July 2003.
