THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (A688 WHEATLEY HILL TO BOWBURN LINK) (CLASSIFIED ROAD) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 2003
The County Council of Durham hereby give notice that they have made, and submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, an Order under sections 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980: 1. authorising the Council to: (a) improve highways (including raising, lowering or otherwise altering); (b) stop up highways; (c) construct new highways; (d) stop up private means of access to premises; and (e) provide new means of access to said premises; all on or in the vicinity of the route of the classified road known as the road A688 Wheatley Hill to Bowburn Link which the Council are proposing to construct and improve between the existing B6291, south of the A1(M) Bowburn Motorway Junction and the A181 at Byers Garth. Copies of the Order and of the relevant plan may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours from 8 May 2003 at the offices of the Director of Corporate and Legal Services, County Hall, Durham; the offices of the City of Durham Council, 4 Saddler Street, Durham; at Bowburn Library, Durham Road, Bowburn and at the offices of the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Authority Orders Section, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne. Any person may, not later than 24 June 2003, object to the confirmation of the Order by notice to the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Authority Orders Section, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD, stating the grounds of their objections.
