Take notice that UK Coal Mining Ltd, of Harworth Park, Blyth Road, Harworth, Doncaster, South Yorkshire DN11 8DB, is applying to the Environment Agency for licences to abstract water from boreholes in the Sherwood Sandstone at the following sites: At National Grid Refs (1) SE 6452 4412 and SE 6476 4434, North Selby Mine, New Road, Escrick, York YO4 6EY, in the parish of Deighton within the Unitary Authority of York and (2) SE 6641 3574 and SE 6668 3596 Whitemoor Mine, Cliffe Common, Selby, North Yorkshire YO8 7EG, in the parish of Cliffe in the Selby District of North Yorkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at up to 54.5 cubic metres per hour, 1,000 cubic metres per day and 10,000 cubic metres per year from the North Selby and Whitemoor sites. The licences are to replace the existing licences which expire on 30 April 2003. The current licences permit the abstraction of up to 54.5 cubic metres per hour, 1,000 cubic metres per day and 70,000 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for private water supply purposes at both the sites. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the survey office, Riccall Mine, Selby Road, Riccall, York YO19 6QR, or the survey office Stillingfleet Mine, Stillingfleet Moor, Stillingfleet, York YO19 6HX, between 24 March 2003 and 21 April 2003.
