ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A27 TRUNK ROAD (CROSSBUSH BYPASS) (40 AND 50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 200 

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 84(1)(a) and (2) of, and paragraph 27 (1) of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A27 Trunk Road in the District of Arun in the County of West Sussex.
The effect of the Order would be to impose a speed limit of 50 miles per hour on the westbound carriageway of the A27 (Crossbush Bypass) starting at a point 850 metres east of its junction with the A284 (Lyminster Road); the existing 40 miles per hour speed limit would be revised to start at a point 246 metres east (rather than 460 metres east) of its junction with the A284 (Lyminster Road), giving a distance of approximately 604 metres for the proposed 50 miles per hour speed limit.
A copy of the draft Order, of a plan illustrating the proposal, of the Order to be revoked and of a statement explaining why the Secretary of State proposes to make the Order may be inspected during office hours at the offices of West Sussex County Council, County Hall, Chichester PO19 1RQ and Arun District Council, Arun Civic Centre, Maltravers Road, Littlehampton BN17 5LF, until the end of the objection period.
Any person desiring to object or make representations to the Secretary of State’s proposal should send, not later than 7 April 2003, a written statement of his or her representation or objection and of the grounds thereof to Operations Directorate, Highways Agency, Federated House, London Road, Dorking, Surrey RH4 1SZ, quoting the Ref HA/A27/28/3/115. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
