NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SCHEDULE 10
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act
1991, as amended by the Environment Act 1995, that an application has been made to
the Environment Agency by Anglian Water Services Limited for consent to discharge
sewage effluent. The application is for a consent to discharge up to a maximum of
1,494 cubic metres per day of sewage effluent under storm conditions from St Ives
Road CSO, Papworth Everard, into an unnamed ditch leading to West Brook at National
Grid Ref TL 2805 6356.
The application is for a temporary consent, in order to allow alleviation of serious
recent property flooding from the sewer, whilst a permanent solution is found. The
discharge is not continuous and will only take place at times of heavy rainfall exceeding
the capacity of the sewer.
St Ives Road CSO is within the South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridgeshire
County Council areas. The uses of the West Brook include livestock watering, and the
brook is of moderate amenity.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so
in writing to the Customer Service Manager, Environment Agency, Bromholme Lane, Brampton,
Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire PE28 4NE, to arrive not later than 14 April 2003, quoting
Ref ASCNF 3963/11677.
A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, at the Public Register
at the Environment Agency, Kingfisher House, Goldhay Way, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough
PE2 5ZR (01733 371811) between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm on weekdays.
