NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that BP Oil UK Limited, of Witan Gate House, 500-600 Witan Gate, Milton Keynes MK9 1ES, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from the Middle Chalk at National Grid Ref 50942 22147, at Guildford Street Service Station, Guildford Street, Luton, Bedfordshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 15 cubic metres per hour, 360 cubic metres per day, 131,400 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for groundwater remediation. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Luton Central Library (Reference Library), St George Square, Luton, between 3rd February and 3 March 2003. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Apollo Court, 2 Bishop Square, St Albans Road West, Hatfield, Hertfordshire AL10 9EX, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
