TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
NOTICE OF DEPOSIT OF PRE-INQUIRY CHANGES TO THE REVISED BARNET UNITARY DEVELOPMENT PLAN, JANUARY 2003
LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET REVISED UNITARY DEVELOPMENT PLAN (UDP)
The London Borough of Barnet has published the Pre-Inquiry Changes to the Revised
Deposit UDP. Whilst not part of the statutory plan process, this document sets out
the Council’s final position before commencement of the Public Local Inquiry. If,
and when, these proposals are adopted they will form part of the development plan
for the area of the London Borough of Barnet. The development plan forms the basis
for decisions on land use planning affecting that area.
Copies of the Pre-Inquiry Changes Document are available for public inspection at
Barnet House, 1255 High Road, Whetstone, London N20 0EJ; Edgware Library, Hale Lane,
Edgware HA8; Hendon Library and Town Hall, The Burroughs NW4; and Golders Green Library,
Golders Green Road NW11 (not on Mondays) and at all other local libraries in Barnet,
free of charge, from Monday 13 January 2003, between the hours 9.00 am and 5.00 pm
from Monday to Friday (please check with your local library or the number below for
later opening times).
Objections to, and representations in respect of the Pre-Inquiry Changes Document
should be sent in writing to Des Welton, Chief Planning Officer (Strategic Planning
and Economic Development), London Borough of Barnet, 1255 High Road, Whetstone, London
N20 0EJ, before 5.00 pm on Monday 24 February 2003. Objections and representations
should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are
made. They may also be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address
of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the plan.
Objections and representations received at this stage of the UDP review process do
not have the same procedural status as those received at the Deposit and Revised Deposit
stages. The Planning Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State will decide whether
these will be heard at the Public Local Inquiry.
Further information is available from Planning and Regeneration Policy, London Borough
of Barnet, 1255 High Road, Whetstone, London N20 0EJ. Telephone 020-8359 4990.
Notice of Intention to Adopt Proposals

given for making objections, the London Borough of Barnet intend to proceed with these
changes to the Public Local Inquiry, following which the proposals will be formally
deposited as Post-Inquiry modifications prior to formal adoption.
