TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Tyne and Wear) (No 18 Order 2002)” authorising the stopping-up of an area of Charlotte Terrace, South Shields to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted to the Assistant Director of Development Services by South Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council on 3 September 2002 under Ref ST/00739/02/LA.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Secretary of State at the offices of the Director Planning, Environment and Transport, Government Office for the North East, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD (quoting Ref GO-NE/02/5038/35/19) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Neighbourhood Services, South Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council, Town Hall, Westoe Road, South Shields, Tyne and Wear.
Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 9 January 2003 apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
Schedule
The planning permission is granted for the proposed installation of replacement roller shutters, change of use of highway to provide access ramp and handrail, new entrance doors and external alterations at 1-2 Charlotte Terrace, South Shields, Tyne and Wear NE33 1QQ.
