NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that United Utilities Water plc, of Dawson House, Great Sankey, Warrington WA5 3LW, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 27/75/009/011, which permits abstraction of water from Thirlmere Reservoir, at National Grid Ref NY 3090 1900, for public water supply to the Keswick area.
The temporary variation being applied for is an increase of the annual limit from 755 Ml to 90 Ml until the end of 2002 only. There will be no change to the daily limit.
A copy of the application and any map, plan and other document submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, during normal opening hours, at United Utilities’ Thirlmere Estate Office, The Old Saw Mill, Thirlmere, near Keswick, between Wednesday 2 October 2002 and Thursday 31 October 2002.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, North West Region, Ghyll Mount, Gillan Way, Penrith 40 Business Park, Penrith, Cumbria CA11 9BP, before the end of the said period.
