THE GREENWICH (BUS STOP CLEARWAY) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO 22) TRAFFIC ORDER 2002

1. Notice is hereby given, that Greenwich Council, hereinafter called the Council, on 28 August 2002 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. 2. The general effect of the Orders will be to create a controlled parking zone in the Plumstead Station area which will operate between the hours 9.30 am and 11.00 am on Mondays to Fridays inclusive and which incorporates the streets or lengths of streets referred to in Schedule 1 to this Notice. 3. Residents and business users whose postal address is indicated in Schedule 2 to this notice may purchase permits and visitor vouchers at the rates set out below: (a) residents permit (specifying up to two vehicles) - £11.00 each per year; (b) business first permit - £11.00 each per year, each subsequent permit £110.00 each per year; (c) resident visitors vouchers (valid for one day) - 30 pence per voucher (sold in £3.00 books of 10 vouchers). The permits for the controlled parking zone will only be valid in the zone for which they are issued. The maximum entitlement of permits for business users will be 10 permits per year and the maximum entitlement of resident visitors vouchers will be 100 per household per year. 4. The further effects of the Orders, which have been modified after consultation from those originally advertised, will be to: (a) designate permit parking places, on certain lengths of the streets specified in Schedule 1 to this notice, operative between 9.30 am and 11.00 am on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, where vehicles displaying a valid parking permit or residents visitors voucher will be permitted to wait without time limit; (b) designate a free parking place operative between 9.30 am and 11.00 am on Mondays to Fridays inclusive on a length of Southport Road where vehicles may wait free of charge without time limit; (c) designate a free parking place operative between 8.00 am and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive on a length of Griffin Road where vehicles may wait for a maximum period of 30 minutes and where return of that vehicle to that same parking place will be prohibited for 1 hour; (d) impose waiting restrictions operative between 9.30 am and 11.00 am on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, on certain lengths of the streets specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; (e) impose waiting restrictions operative between 8.00 and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive, on certain lengths of the streets specified in Schedule 3 to this notice; (f) impose waiting restrictions operative at any time, on certain lengths of the streets specified in Schedule 4 to this notice; (g) impose bus stop clearway restrictions operative at any time on certain lengths of Griffin Road and Orchard Road. 5. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 2 September 2002, of the Orders being amended, of other documents showing more detailed particulars of the Orders and plans showing the locations and effects of the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at Engineering Services, Greenwich Council, Peggy Middleton House, 50 Woolwich New Road, London SE18 6HQ, for 6 weeks following the date the Orders were made and copies of the Orders may be obtained from the same address. 6. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the making of the Orders, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
