PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER REGULATION 10 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000
INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that William Cook Hi Tec Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to operate an installation involving the melting of iron and steel in an electric furnace of greater than 7 tonnes capacity and casting ferrous metal in a foundry with a production capacity exceeding 20 tonnes per day. The installation is located at Green Road, Penistone, in the district of Barnsley, in the county of Yorkshire, S36 6BU.
The application contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment.
Information relating to the IPPC application for a permit to operate the Hi Tec foundry is held at the following locations:

The Environment Agency, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG; and
Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, Town Hall, Church Street, Barnsley S70 2TA.

Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the above-stated addresses during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying.
Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at the address below, within 28 days from the date of this public notice:

Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not so be placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request.
