THE HACKNEY (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (NO 1) ORDER 2002
1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Hackney, on 29
July 2002, intends to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 35 and 124 of,
and Part IV of Schedule 9 of, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, sections 66, 69,
70 to 74, 76 and 77 of the Road Traffic Act 1991, as amended by the Road Traffic Act
1991 (Amendment of Section 76(3)) Order 1995, and all the other enabling powers. 2. The
general effect of the proposed Order is to create a new Order which will amend charges
and regulate off-street parking at the Bentley Road, Dalston Lane, Wilmer Place, Gillett
Street, Amhurst Road, Britannia Leisure Centre, Clissold Leisure Centre, Kings Hall
Leisure Centre, Hackney Town Hall North Car Park, and St John’s Memorial Gardens Car
Parks with the following effect: The hours of operation at Bentley Road and Wilmer
Place will be 7.00 am to 7.00 pm on Mondays to Saturdays with the exception of Bank
Holidays. The charge for parking is:

The hours of operation at Gillett Street will be 7.00 am to 7.00 pm on Mondays to
Saturdays with the exception of Bank Holidays. The charge for parking is:

The hours of operation at Britannia Leisure Centre, Clissold Leisure Centre, and
Kings Hall Leisure Centre will be commensurate with opening hours. The charge for

The hours of operation at Hackney Town Hall North Car Park and St John’s Memorial
Car Park will be 7.00 am to 11.00 pm on Mondays to Saturdays with the exception of

Dalston Lane Car Park will be for permit holders only. 3. Copies of: (a) the proposed
Order; (b) a map indicating the effect and location of the Order; (c) the existing
Orders; and (d) the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order, are available
for inspection during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, in the
reception area, Directorate of Community and Learning, London Borough of Hackney,
Eagle House, 161 City Road, London EC1V 1NR, from a period of 28 days from the date
this notice is published. 4. In pursuance of section 10(2) of the said 1984 Act, the
Assistant Director (Transportation) of the London Borough of Hackney, or some person
authorised in that behalf by him, may if it appears to him or that person, essential
in the interests of the expeditious, convenient or safe movement of traffic or the
preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected
by the Order runs may amend or suspend the Order or any provisions thereof. 5. Any
person who wishes to object or make any other representation in relation to the proposed
Order must do so in writing, specifying the grounds for the objection, to the Director
of Community and Learning, London Borough of Hackney, Eagle House, 161 City Road,
London EC1V 1NR, within 28 days from the date this notice is published. 6. Copies
of the proposed Order and further information may be obtained by contacting the Director
