NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that H A & L Batty, of Inglenook Farm, South Milford, Leeds LS25 5AQ, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the lower magnesian limestone at National Grid Ref SE 4884 3094 in the parish of South Milford within the Selby District of North Yorkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 34 cubic metres per hour, 816 cubic metres per day, 43,165 cubic metres between 1 April and 30 September each year. The water will be used for spray irrigation of arable crops. The annual quantity will be abstracted in aggregate with an existing time limited licence, there will therefore be no net increase in the quantity currently authorised to be abstracted from the lower magnesian limestone aquifer. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours, at the above address between 21 June 2002 and 20 July 2002. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Licensing Section, Dales Area, Coverdale House, Aviator Court, Clifton Moor, York YO30 4GZ, before the end of the said period.
