Dover Harbour Board

HARBOUR ACTS 1964

Notice is hereby given that the Dover Harbour Board has applied to the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions to make a Harbour Revision Order under section 14 of the Harbours Act 1964. The object of the proposed Order is to make amendments to the local legislation affecting the harbour, amend the Board’s constitution, particularly as to its committee structure and borrowing powers and as to investment, modernise the application of road traffic legislation to dock roads, enlarge the powers of the harbour master to give directions, amend the Board’s powers in respect of dangerous goods and lost and abandoned property and repeal various obsolete statutory provisions. An Environmental Statement is not required for this proposed Order. A copy of the draft Order is available for inspection at the offices of the Dover Harbour Board, Harbour House, Dover, Kent CT17 9BU, and at the Department for Environment, Transport and the Regions, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR, by appointment (telephone 020 7944 2640). Any person wishing to make an objection to the Secretary of State against the proposal should write to Mr Paul McKinney, Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Ports Division, Zone 2/31, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR (alternatively by fax on 020 7944 2188, or by e-mail to paul.mckinney@dtlr.gsi.gov.uk) within 42 days from the date at the foot of this notice, quoting Ref P3/3/359 and stating the grounds of objection.
