NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Dales Water Services Ltd, Witherick Lane, Melmerby, Ripon, North Yorkshire HG4 5JB, on behalf of S. Mawson and Son, Moor House, Orton, Appleby, Cumbria CA10 3SA, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehold in the sandstone at National Grid Ref Point NY 6074 0779, at Moor House, Orton, Appleby, Cumbria. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 7 cubic metres per hour, 41 cubic metres per day, 12,900 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for agricultural use. A copy of the application and of any map, plans or other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Moor House, Orton, Appleby, Cumbria CA10 3SA, between 30 March 2002 and 30 April 2002. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, North West Region, Ghyll Mount, Gillan Way, Penrith 40 Business Park, Penrith, Cumbria CA11 9BP, before the end of the said period.
