THE LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO ) ORDER 200
VARIOUS ROADS
1. Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Merton, after consulting the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 2. The general effects of this Order will be to further amend the London Borough of Merton (Waiting and Loading Restrictions) Order, 1977 so that waiting and loading restrictions be introduced in the roads detailed in the Schedule to this notice, at the times specified. 3. Nothing in the Order will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform. 4. Exemptions are provided in the Order to permit vehicles to wait: (a) to enable passengers to board or alight and to load or unload their personal luggage; (b) for up to 20 minutes for the purpose of delivering and collecting goods or loading/unloading the vehicle at premises adjacent to the street; (c) if they are being used to maintain the road or the services therein or by local authorities or the Post Office in pursuance to statutory powers and duties; (d) if they are being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes. 5. A copy of the proposed Order, a plan identifying the area affected by the proposed Order and the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order can be inspected during the Council’s normal office hours Mondays to Fridays at the main reception, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey. 6. Any person desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objections and the grounds thereof to the Environmental Services Department (Ref SGE) at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey SM4 5DX no later than 5 April 2002. Schedule Waiting and Loading Restrictions—operating at all times Parkside Avenue: (a) North side: (i) from its junction with Parkside eastwards for a distance of 15 metres; (ii) from a point opposite the western flank wall of No 3 Parkside Avenue westwards for a distance of 29 metres; (iii) from a point opposite property boundary of Nos 3 and 5 Parkside Gardens westwards for a distance of 21 metres; (b) southside: (i) from its junction with Parkside eastwards for a distance of 21.5 metres; (ii) from a point opposite the north-western flank wall of No 10 Peek Crescent to a point 1.5 metres west of the eastern flank wall of No 10 Parkside Avenue. Peek Crescent: (a) east side, from its junction with Parkside Avenue to a point 4 metres south of the north-western flank wall of No 10 Peek Crescent; (b) west side, from its junction with Parkside Avenue to a point opposite the north-western flank wall of No 10 Peek Crescent. Parkside Gardens, from its junction with Parkside Avenue northwards for a distance of 11 metres. Drake Road: (a) south-east side, from its junction with Carshalton Road south-westwards for a distance of 86 metres; (b) north-east side, from its junction with Carshalton Road south-westwards for a distance of 10 metres. Carshalton Road, west side, from a point 15 metres south of Drake Road southern kerbline northwards for a distance of 37 metres. The Broadway, south side, from a point 15 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Southey Road westwards for a distance of 38 metres. 14 March 2002.
