THE BROMLEY (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO 1) ORDER 2002
HIGH STREET, ST MARY CRAY
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Bromley hereinafter
called “the Council” proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and
84(1)(c), (1A) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section
8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 of the Local Government Act 1985 and of all other enabling
powers, and having consulted the Traffic Director for London and the Commissioner
of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to that Act.
The general effect of the Order would be to introduce a 20 mph speed limit in the
following roads of lengths of road in St Mary Cray: Bay Tree Close, Copper Beech Close,
Crowhurst Way, Elizabeth Way, High Street (between Blacksmiths Lane and Kent Road),
Park Road, Red Lion Close, Robert Close, Rookery Gardens and Sholden Gardens.
A copy of the draft Order, of the relevant drawing and of the statement of reasons
can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until
15 March 2002, at the Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3UH.
Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing
of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director of Environmental Services,
Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3UH, quoting Ref ADE(TP)CC/T100/368 not
later than 15 March 2002.
Persons objecting to the proposed Orders should be aware that under the provisions
of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985 any comments received in
response to this notice may be open to public inspection.
