NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991, that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by J S Bloor (Newbury) Ltd for Consent to discharge 9.4 cubic metres per day of treated sewage effluent from a housing development at Drayton Mill, Drayton, near Abingdon, Oxfordshire, into the Mill Brook at National Grid Reference SU 489 934. Details of the proposal are contained in the register held by the Agency at its offices at Isis House, Howbery Park, Crowmarsh Gifford, Wallingford, Oxfordshire, and may be inspected, free of charge, from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday inclusive. Inquiries may also be made by telephone on 01491 828487 between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday inclusive. Any person who wishes to make representations or objections with respect to the application should do so in writing to the Area Environment Planning Manager, The Environment Agency, Thames Region, West Area, Isis House, Howbery Park, Crowmarsh Gifford, Wallingford, Oxfordshire OX10 8BD, quoting Ref W/WR 401 not later than 21 February 2002. The Environment Agency is committed to maintaining and, where possible, improving water quality. If, after full consideration of this application and any representations made by interested parties, it is decided that consent can be given, then conditions will be imposed to ensure that the effluent receives treatment before discharge to the receiving waters so that the above aims are met.
