STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAYS
The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and Regions hereby gives notice that, on the application of Waveney District Council, he proposes to make an Order under section 248 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of areas of highway on Hollow Lane, Uplands Road South, and Public Footpath 8A, Carlton Colville, Suffolk, which cross or enter the route of the proposed Carlton Colville Bypass (“the main highway”). If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised in the interests of the safety of users of, and to facilitate the movement of traffic on, the proposed main highway, which is highway to be constructed in accordance with the planning permission granted by Waveney District Council on 17 March 1999, under Ref W15951/5. The proposed Order will provide that the stopping-up must not be carried out until Persimmon Homes (Anglia) Limited has provided new areas of highway. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 24 July 2001 at the offices of Waveney District Council, Town Hall, High Street, Lowestoft, Suffolk NR32 1HS, and on the public notice boards of Carlton Colville Parish Council situated at Ribblesdale, Ashburnham Way and Famona Road. They may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the East of England (Environment Group), (quoting Ref GT/T3535/35/1/13) at the address stated below. Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 24 July 2001, by notice to the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and Regions, quoting the above Reference, at the Government Office of the East of England (Environment Group), Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.
