PROPOSED STOPPING UP OF A LENGTH OF KENNETT ROAD, WYTHENSHAWE
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that, on the application of Triangle Architects, he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act, which will authorise the stopping up of a length of Kennett Road, Wythenshawe. If the Order is made, the stopping up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Irwell Valley Housing Association by Manchester City Council on 18 January 2001 under Ref 060266/FO/SOUTH2/00. Irwell Valley Housing Association shall provide a new footway and a new area of highway and also improve a length of Kennett Road from its junction with Deptford Avenue running northwards for approximately 30 metres. The new highway shall be, for the purposes of the Highway Act 1980, maintainable at the public expense and Manchester City Council shall be the highway authority for that highway. Copies of the Draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing on 13 July 2001 at the offices of Manchester City Council, Town Hall, Albert Square, Manchester, and may be obtained free of charge from the Government Office for the North West (Transport) (quoting Ref GO/TNW 5082/35/1/98) at the address stated below. During the above-mentioned period of 28 days anyone may object to the making to the proposed Order by writing to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, quoting the above reference, at the Government Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.
