NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO GRANT AN EXTENSION TO A PUBLIC GAS TRANSPORTERS LICENCE
The Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (“the Authority”), pursuant to section 7(5) of the Gas Act 1986, hereby gives notice that it proposes to grant a licence under that section to The Gas Transportation Company Ltd, whose registered office is situated at Sydney Vane House, St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands, and which has an address for service in Great Britain at Woolpit Business Park, Woolpit, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk IP30 9UQ. The extension, if awarded, will authorize the above-named to convey gas through pipes to any premises in the areas briefly described below and shown on maps previously submitted to the Authority. Areas : Stubley Mill Road, Littleborough, Lancashire Moat Farm, Denton Drive, Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire Denison Road, Rusholme, Manchester Greenleach Lane, Worsley, Manchester St. Asaph Business Park, St. Asaph, North Wales Neptune Park, Cattedown, Plymouth Chapel Road, Wrentham, Beccles, Suffolk Elm Tree Gardens, Yoden Way, Peterlee, County Durham Shepherds Way, Fatfield, Washington, Tyne and Wear Copies of these maps are available for inspection at the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets at the address shown below. The Authority is of the opinion that the above-named applicant intends to carry on the activities which may be authorized by its licence under section 7 of the Act in the areas named, and that the granting of the licence will be calculated: (a) to secure that reasonable demands for gas in Great Britain are met, and (b) to secure effective competition in the supply of gas conveyed through pipes. Any representations or objections with respect to the proposed extensions may be made in writing and delivered to R. Legg, Office of Gas and Electricity Markets, Licensing Section, 2nd Floor, 9 Millbank, London SW1P 3GE, no later than 18th July 2001.
