THE A12 TRUNK ROAD (HATFIELD PEVEREL TO WITHAM LINK ROAD) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER (NO. PS) 20

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the above-mentioned Acts has prepared a draft Compulsory Purchase Order, entitled as above, which he proposes to make, authorising him to purchase compulsorily the land described in Schedule 1 hereto for the purposes of:
(i)the construction of the new trunk roads at Witham in the district of Braintree in the county of Essex, in pursuance of the A12 Trunk Road (Hatfield Peverel to Witham Link Road) Order 20  ;
(ii)the construction and improvement of highways and the provision of new means of access to premises in that district in pursuance of the A12 Trunk Road (Hatfield Peverel to Witham Link Road Side Roads) Order 20  , and
(iii)use by the Secretary of State in connection with such construction and improvement of highways and the execution of other works mentioned above.

Copies of the draft Compulsory Purchase Order and of the plan referred to therein, together with a copy of the published drafts of the above-mentioned Trunk Road Order and Side Roads Order (with their accompanying plans) have been deposited and may be seen at all reasonable hours from 25th January 2001 to 9th March 2001 at the Highways Agency, c/o Julia Florin, QP(QIM), Room G/44, St. Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0ET; at the offices of the Highways Agency, Project Services Division, Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL; and at the following offices: Essex County Council, County Hall, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1QH; Braintree District Council, Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex CM7 9HB; Witham Town Council, Town Hall, Newland Street, Witham, Essex CM8 2FE; Hatfield Peverel Parish Council, Council Brewery Cottage, The Green, Hatfield Peverel, Chelmsford, Essex; and at Witham Library, 18 Newland Street, Witham, Essex CN8 2AQ and Hatfield Peverel Library, The Street, Hatfield Peverel, Essex CM3 2DP.
Any objection to the draft Compulsory Purchase Order must be made in writing and addressed to the Secretary of State at the offices of the Highways Agency, Project Services Division, Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL, not later than 9th March 2001, and should state the grounds of objection and quote the reference HA 65/09/177. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
