THE CARDIFF- GLAN CONWY TRUNK ROAD (A470) (MAES YR HELMAU TO CROSS FOXES IMPROVEMENT SIDE ROADS) ORDER 200

The National Assembly for Wales hereby gives notice that it proposes to make the following orders: An Order under sections 10, 12 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980 providing: (a) a road 1,700 metres in length which it proposes to construct between Dolgellau and Dinas Mawddwy in the county of Gwynedd. It commences at a point approximately 110 metres north-west of the Lodge and extends in a generally south-easterly direction, finishing at a point approximately 270 metres north-west of the Cross Foxes Hotel and shall become a trunk road as from the date when the Order comes into force; (b) that length of the Cardiff-Glan Conwy Trunk Road (A470) to be superseded by the new trunk road on the route mentioned above, shall cease to be a trunk road and shall become a classified road as indicated in the Order as from the date on which the National Assembly for Wales notifies Gwynedd Council (which will become the highway authority responsible of that length) that the said new trunk road is completed and is open for through traffic. An Order under sections 12, 14, 125 and 268 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising it: (a) (i) to carry out the improvement of highways; (ii) to stop up highways; (iii) to construct new highways; (iv) to stop up private means of access to premises; and (v) to provide new means of access to premises, all on, or in the vicinity of, the route of the above-mentioned new trunk road; and (b) provide for the transfer of the said new highways to Gwynedd County Council as from the date on which it notifies the Council that the new highway has been completed and is open for through traffic. Copies of the draft Orders, relevant plans and environmental statement may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours from 11th January 2001 until 21st February 2001, or within 6 weeks from the date of publication of this notice, whichever period shall expire later, at Gwynedd Council Offices, Penarlag, Dolgellau, Gwynedd; The National Assembly for Wales, Transport Directorate, Dinerth Road, Colwyn Bay, Conwy; and the National Assembly for Wales, Transport Directorate, Cathys Park, Cardiff. Any person may, not later than 21st February 2001 or within 6 weeks from the date of publication of this notice, if such a period shall expire later, object to the making of either of the Orders by notice to the National Assembly for Wales at the Roads Administration Division 3, Transport Directorate, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3NQ, quoting Ref. 1 BZ 780050-125-001, and stating the grounds of objection. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
