NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Dales Water Services Ltd, Witherick Lane, Melmerby, Ripon, North Yorkshire HG4 5JB, on behalf of J. & B. Fitton Ltd, Cowlishaw Farm, Shaw, Oldham OL2 7BX, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the millstone grit at National Grid Reference SD 9304 0845 at Cowlishaw Farm, Cowlishaw, Shaw, Oldham OL2 7BX. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates, 12 cubic metres per hour, 60 cubic metres per day, 16,000 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for domestic and sanitary uses at an abattoir. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Cowlishaw Farm, Cowlishaw, Shaw, Oldham OL2 7BX, between 28th December 2000 and 31st January 2001. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, North West Region, Appleton House, 430 Birchwood Boulevard, Birchwood, Warrington WA3 7WD, before the end of the said period.
