THE INTRODUCTION OF A ZEBRA CROSSING IN WINCHMORE HILL ROAD

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield has approved under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the introduction of a “Zebra” pedestrian crossing: (a) in the north-eastbound carriageway of Winchmore Hill Road which will be situated approximately 13 metres north-east of a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 14 and 16 Winchmore Hill Road; (b) in the south-westbound carriageway of Winchmore Hill Road, which will be situated approximately 17 metres north-east of a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 14 and 16 Winchmore Hill Road. These crossings are staggered and are separated by a central reservation. A plan indicating the proposals can be inspected at the Reception Desk, “B” Block, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive. Persons desiring to object to the proposals should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection stating the grounds thereof, to the Head of Traffic and Parking Services, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, quoting Ref. KWG/TG52/741 by 22nd November 2000. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, many of the reports made to a Committee of the Council are open to the press and to the public. When this happens any documents used to a material extent in compiling the report are also open to inspection. This means that any letter you write to the Council in response to this notice may be available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they wish. I.
