NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION 88 AND SCHEDULE 10

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 88 and Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991, as amended by Schedule 22 of the Environment Act 1995, that an application has been made to the Environment Agency (Southern Region) by Southern Water Services Ltd. for a consent to discharge storm sewage and sewage in an emergency to the Pigeon Cove Gill at National Grid Reference TQ 8368 1245 from a proposed new wastewater pumping station at Rock Lane, Guestling, East Sussex. Rock Lane pumping station would serve 62 existing dwellings, of which 10 are currently not connected to the public foul sewer, and would replace Austen Way Wastewater Pumping Station. The application indicates that new station would comply with Environment agency requirements for pass-forward flow, emergency storage, and safeguards that include standby pump, a socket for connection of a mobile generator, access for a tanker, and a telemetry alarm system. Any person wishing to make representation about the application should do so in writing to the Area Environment Planning Manager, Environment Agency, Orchard House, Endcavour Park, London Road, Addington, West Malling, Kent ME19 5SH, not later than Friday, 3rd November 2000, quoting application A1120/K/00.
