THE A3036 GLA ROAD (FREE PARKING PLACES) (BUSES) (NO. ) ORDER 2000
Transport for London gives notice that, on 24th August 2000, it made the above-mentioned Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The general nature and effect of the Orders will be to continue in force indefinitely the provisions of certain experimental Traffic Orders so as to: (a) continue to provide the northbound bus lane in Albert Embankment and the southbound bus lane in Albert Embankment which lies south of Glasshouse Walk; (b) continue to prohibit vehicles (except buses being used to provide a bus service under an agreement with Transport for London) from stopping at any time on any bus stop in Albert Embankment; (c) continue to prohibit waiting by vehicles (including waiting for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays in certain parts of Albert Embankment and also at any time in certain other parts of Albert Embankment; (d) continue to provide parking places on the west side of Albert Embankment in which buses may be left, free of charge, for periods of up to 40 minutes with no return to the parking place within 2 hours, while those parking places operate. The parking places will continue to operate between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays (Christmas Day, Good Friday and Bank Holidays excepted) and waiting by vehicles, including waiting for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, will continue to be prohibited in the parking places between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays. A copy of each of the Orders, which will come into force on 1st September 2000, and of documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection, between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made, at the offices of Transport for London, College House, Great Peter Street, London SW1P 3LN; and Lambeth Borough Council’s Transportation and Highways Group, 3rd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, Brixton, London SW9 9SP. Applications to the High Court challenging the legality of the Orders should be made within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made.
