THE A34 WINCHESTER TO PRESTON TRUNK ROAD (POTTAL POOL JUNCTION IMPROVEMENT) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER (PS NO.  ) 20

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make the following Orders in relation to the A34 trunk road in the District of South Staffordshire: The A34 Winchester to Preston Trunk Road (Pottal Pool Junction Improvement, Side Roads) Order 20, under sections 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, which will authorise him to: (a) improve highways; (b) construct a new highway; (c) stop up private means of access to premises; and (d) provide new means of access to premises, all at Pottal Pool in the vicinity of the trunk road mentioned above. The A34 Winchester to Preston Trunk Road (Pottall Pool Junction Improvement) Compulsory Purchase Order (PS No.   ) 20, under sections 239 and 240 of the Highways Act 1980, and under section 2 of the Acquisition of Land Act 1981, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, authorising him to purchase compulsorily the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of: (a) the improvement of highways at Pottal Pool in the District of South Staffordshire in pursuance of the above-named Side Roads Order; (b) the improvement of the A34 trunk road at Pottal Pool in the said District; and (c) use by the Secretary of State in connection with such improvement, and the execution of other works mentioned above. Copies of each draft Order and the plans referred to in it have been deposited and may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours from 13th July 2000 until 7th September 2000, or within 8 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice if that period expires later, at the Highways Agency, Room 5/46A, St. Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0TE and Project Services Division, Room C5, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL; at Staffordshire County Council, County Clerk and Chief Executive, Walton Building, PO Box 11, Martin Street, Stafford ST16 2LH and Director of Development Services, Development Services Department, Riverway, Stafford ST16 3TJ; at South Staffordshire District Council, The Council Offices, Wolverhampton Road, Codsall, Staffordshire WV8 1PX; Cannock Library, Manor Avenue, Cannock, Staffordshire WS11 1AA; Hednesford Library, Anglesey Court, Hednesford, Cannock, Staffordshire WS12 5AD and Penkridge Library, Bellbrook, Penkridge, Staffordshire ST9 9DL. Any person may object to the making of these Orders not later than 7th September 2000, or within 8 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice. If that period expires later, by notice to the Secretary of State, at the offices of the Highways Agency, Project Services Division, Room C5, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL, quoting Ref. HA 65/2/40 and stating the grounds of objection. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection of representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
