NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that P. F. Southgate Ltd, of Fen Farm, Attleborough, Norfolk NR17 1SR, is applying to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region for a licence to abstract water from a tributary of the River Thet, at National Grid Reference TM 015 946, at Swangey Farm, in the parish of Great Ellingham, in the county of Norfolk. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 55 cubic metres per hour, 1,200 cubic metres per day, 113,636 cubic metres per year, between November and March each year. The water will be stored in a reservoir during the winter months and be used for spray irrigation during the summer months. The existing licence 6/33/44/51/16 for summer abstraction will be revoked. A copy of the application and of any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the offices of P. F. Southgate Ltd, Fen Farm, Attleborough, Norfolk, between 10th July 2000 and 7th August 2000. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Bromholme Road, Brampton, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire PE18 8NE, before the end of the said period.
