THE HACKNEY (A503) LOCAL ROAD (NO. 4) RED ROUTE ORDER 2000
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Hackney, having consulted the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis, on 22nd June 2000, made the above-mentioned Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part I of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985. 2. The general effects of the Hackney (A503) Local Road (No. 4) Red Route Order 1999, which comes into force on 26th June 2000, will be to create a permanent traffic management Order for Seven Sisters Road and parts of roads adjacent to the A503 between Green Lanes and Amhurst Park for a Priority Route in accordance with the Traffic Director for London’s Network Plan. The Priority Route will operate Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., the exceptions being where Double Red Line restrictions apply for 24 hours a day. 3. The prohibition referred to in paragraph 2 above will not apply to vehicles being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency, or Royal Mail liveried vehicles. 4. The prohibition referred to in paragraph 2 above will not apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, or anything done in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway pursuant to section 66 or 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 5. In pursuance of section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Head of Land Use and Transportation of the London Borough of Hackney, or some person authorised in that behalf by her, may if it appears to her or that person, essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient or safe movement of traffic or for the preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Order runs or suspend the Order or any provision thereof. 6. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers or that any of the relevant requirements have not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. 7. A copy of the Order, and of the relevant documents can be inspected during normal working hours Monday to Friday inclusive, until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from the date of this notice, in the Reception Area, London Borough of Hackney, Regulatory Services, Eagle House, 161 City Road, London EC1V 1NR. 8.
