NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that David Rodric Smith, of Woodend Farm, Cliffe Common, Selby, North Yorkshire YO8 7EF, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 2/27/28/177 which authorises the abstraction of water from a borehole in the Sherwood Sandstone at SE 6651 3415 for agricultural and spray irrigation purposes at Woodend Farm in the parish of Cliffe, Selby District of North Yorkshire. The quantities currently authorised to be abstracted for spray irrigation expire on 30th September 2000. This variation application seeks to abstract 10,000 cubic metres per year; 298 cubic metres per day; and 13.25 cubic metres per hour for spray irrigation, between the months of April to September, the above expiry date. This will result in a net reduction of the annual quantity currently authorised to be abstracted from the aquafer. The hourly quantity will also be abstracted in aggregate with the hourly quantity authorised to be abstracted for agricultural purposes. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Woodend Farm, Cliffe Common, Selby, between 22nd June and 22nd July 2000. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Licensing Section, Dales Area, Coverdale House, Aviator Court, Clifton Moor, York YO30 4GZ, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
