NOTICE OF PROPOSED STOPPING-UP AND DIVERSION, SHIMPLING
Notice is hereby given that an application will be made to the Justices sitting at the Sudbury Magistrates’ Court, Suffolk, on Friday, 30th June 2000, at 11 a.m., for an Order that: (a) part of the C686 running inside the boundary fence of Twin Pines,” The Street, Shimpling, be stopped on the grounds that public rights are unnecessary; (b) part of the C686 running between Twin Pines” and Oak View” be stopped-up subject to the reservation of a public footpath on the grounds that the route is unnecessary for public use save as a footpath; and (c) part of Footpath 10 Shimpling running through the property of Twin Pines” be diverted to a route running between Twin Pines” and Oak View” (connecting with the reserved footpath above at the northern end and with a proposed footpath link to the C686 at the southern end) in order to provide the public with a more commodious route. All these routes are described in the Schedule to this notice. A plan showing the extent of the highway proposed to be stopped-up and the diversion route may be inspected, free of charge, at the offices of Suffolk County Council, St. Helen Court, County Hall, Ipswich, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday and between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday; also at Sudbury Library, Market Hill, Sudbury, between 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday and from Wednesday to Saturday, and between 9.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday. Description of footpath to be diverted That part of Footpath 10 Shimpling commencing at Grid Reference TL 8712952907 within the property of Twin Pines” and proceeding in a north-westerly direction for 14 metres to a point at Grid Reference TL 8712152918 at the rear boundary fence of Twin Pines”. Description of new route of diverted footpath That part of Footpath 10 Shimpling commencing at Grid Reference TL 8712252906 and proceeding in a north-westerly direction between the boundary fences of Twin Pines” and Oak View” for 7 metres, then in a northerly direction for 6 metres to meet the remaining length of Footpath 10 at Grid Reference TL 8711952917.
