NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Cannock Cricket and Hockey Club, at Church Lane, Hatherton, Cannock, Staffordshire WS11 1RR, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from underground strata (Cannock Chase formation), by means of a borehole at National Grid Reference SJ 9545 0999 at Cannock Cricket and Hockey Club. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 12 cubic metres per hour, 140 cubic metres per day, 38,200 cubic metres per year, between April and March each year. The water will be used for irrigation of a water-based synthetic grass hockey pitch. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Cannock Cricket and Hockey Club between 5th June 2000 and 8th July 2000. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Sentinel House, 9 Wellington Crescent, Fradley Park, Lichfield, Staffordshire WS13 8RR, before the end of the said period.
