THE SUTTON (FREE PARKING PLACES) (OAKHILL ROAD AREA) (NO. 1) ORDER 2000

RELATING TO OAKHILL ROAD AREA CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton made the above-mentioned Orders on 17th April 2000 under sections 6 and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. The principal objective of these measures is to regulate existing on-street parking demand, thereby improving local conditions for residents and improving road safety. The general effect of the Sutton (Waiting and Loading Restrictions) (No. 13) (Amendment No. 6) Order 2000 is to introduce waiting restrictions “no waiting at any time” for the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice and introduce waiting restrictions “no waiting between the hours of 11 a.m. and 12 noon on Mondays to Fridays inclusive” for the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice. The general effect of the Sutton (Free Parking Places) (Oakhill Road Area) (No. 1) Order 2000 will be to introduce free parking places to operate during the hours of 11 a.m. and 12 noon on Mondays to Fridays inclusive for the lengths of road specified in Schedule 3 to this notice. The number in brackets after the street’s name indicates the appropriate total number of vehicles which may be accommodated within the proposed parking bays in that street. Copies of the Orders which will come into effect on 22nd May 2000, plans indicating the locations and effects of the measures and the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Orders can be examined at Civic Offices, St. Nicholas Way, Sutton, and Environment and Leisure, 24 Denmark Road, Carshalton, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. If any person wishes to question the validity of these Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court. Elgin Road, Sutton: (a) the north-west side, from a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 2 and 4 Elgin Road to a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 11 and 13 Elgin Road; (b) the south-east side, from a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 2 and 4 Elgin Road to a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 24 and 26 Elgin Road.
