THE SUTTON (FREE PARKING PLACES) (OAKHILL ROAD AREA) (NO. 1) ORDER 2000
RELATING TO OAKHILL ROAD AREA CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton made the above-mentioned Orders on 17th April 2000 under sections 6 and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. The principal objective of these measures is to regulate existing on-street parking demand, thereby improving local conditions for residents and improving road safety. The general effect of the Sutton (Waiting and Loading Restrictions) (No. 13) (Amendment No. 6) Order 2000 is to introduce waiting restrictions “no waiting at any time” for the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice and introduce waiting restrictions “no waiting between the hours of 11 a.m. and 12 noon on Mondays to Fridays inclusive” for the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice. The general effect of the Sutton (Free Parking Places) (Oakhill Road Area) (No. 1) Order 2000 will be to introduce free parking places to operate during the hours of 11 a.m. and 12 noon on Mondays to Fridays inclusive for the lengths of road specified in Schedule 3 to this notice. The number in brackets after the street’s name indicates the appropriate total number of vehicles which may be accommodated within the proposed parking bays in that street. Copies of the Orders which will come into effect on 22nd May 2000, plans indicating the locations and effects of the measures and the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Orders can be examined at Civic Offices, St. Nicholas Way, Sutton, and Environment and Leisure, 24 Denmark Road, Carshalton, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. If any person wishes to question the validity of these Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court. Schedule 1 (Introduce waiting restrictions—“no waiting at any time”) Benhill Road, from a point 23 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Oakhill Road to a point 8 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Oakhill Road. Benhill Wood Road : (a) the west and south-west side (i) from a point 11 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Stanmore Gardens to a point 8 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Stanmore Gardens; (ii) from a point 14 metres south-east of the eastern kerb-line of Woodside Road to a point 8 metres north-west of the western kerb-line of Woodside Road; (b) the east and north-east side, from a point 12 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of Chilworth Gardens to a point 11 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Chilworth Gardens Chilworth Gardens, from its junction with Benhill Wood Road to a point 15 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Benhill Wood Road. Erskine Road, from its junction with Benhill Road to a point 15 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Benhill Road. Oakhill Road : (a) the north side, from a point 15 metres west of the western kerb-line of Benhill Road to a point 15 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Benhill Road; (b) the south side: (i) from a point 34 metres west of the western kerb-line of Thicket Road to a point 34 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Thicket Road; (ii) from a point 15 metres west of the western kerb-line of Behill Road to a point 15 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Benhill Road. Stanmore Gardens, from its junction with Benhill Wood Road to a point 10 metres west of the western kerb-line of Benhill Wood Road. Thicket Road, from a point 1 metre north of the northern flank wall of No. 45 Thicket Road to a point 11 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Oakhill Road. Vine Close, from its junction with Woodside Road to a point 10 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Woodside Road. Schedule 2 (Introduce waiting restrictions—“no waiting between the hours of 11 a.m. and 12 noon on Mondays to Fridays inclusive”) Benhill Wood Road: (a) the west and south-west side: (i) from a point 29.5 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Oakhill Road to a point 11 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Stanmore Gardens; (ii) from a point 8 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Stanmore Gardens to a point 4.5 metres north of the common boundary of Nos. 84 and 86 Benhill Wood Road; (iii) from a point 13 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 41 and 43 Benhill Wood Road to a point 14 metres south-east of the eastern kerb-line of Woodside Road; (iv) from a point 8 metres north-west of the western kerb-line of Woodside Road to a point opposite the common boundary of No. 102 Benhill Wood Road and the Hall at No. 104 Benhill Wood Road; (b) the east and north-east side: (i) from a point 29.5 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Oakhill Road to a point 4.5 metres north of the common boundary of Nos. 84 and 86 Benhill Wood Road; (ii) from a point 13 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 41 and 43 Benhill Wood Road to a point 12 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of Chilworth Gardens; (iii) from a point 11 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Chilworth Gardens to a point opposite the common boundary of No. 102 Benhill Wood Road and the Hall at No. 104 Benhill Wood Road. Elgin Road, Sutton: (a) the north-west side, from a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 2 and 4 Elgin Road to a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 11 and 13 Elgin Road; (b) the south-east side, from a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 2 and 4 Elgin Road to a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 24 and 26 Elgin Road.
